Have you ever sat down and written our your goals? The things you'd like to do, accomplish, or have.
Maybe your lost and not sure where to start or what to aim for.
What would you do, right now, if you knew you couldn't fail!
That's where goals start. They help you see things not as they are, but as they could be.
Maybe your past has been written and determined already. Well then, who's writing your future?
What is one goal that would be worthy of your lifetime?
If you were describing your perfect life to your closest friend, what would it look like?
What is your most beautiful dream?
"I believe that any man/woman's life will be filled with constant and unexpected encouragement, if he makes up his mind to do his level best each day, and as nearly as possible reaching the high water mark of pure and useful living." ~ Booker T. Washington
There is a lot of talk about living your best life. Hell, I talk about that all the time. If that seems daunting to you, then let's simplify.
If you want to live life to the fullest, your best life, it is simple. All you have to do is choose to start with today. One day at a time, live your best life, to the fullest....today.
Easy to say. But that takes commitment, drive and guts to do each and every day.
Reality checks help to assess if you are doing that. They can help determine what path you are currently on.
Here's a simple one for you:
When thinking about yesterday, did I spend my time on what matters or did I waste that day of my life away on meaningless distractions?
Distractions, small wastes of time, checking your Facebook and Instagram feed, getting mired in negativity (internal or external), however you define, will eventually lead you down a path of discouragement.
Discouragement is a murderer. It will kill your future. Your hopes and dreams will be slashed and burned leaving behind the carcasses of what could have been.
Think about how much time you actually spent this year being discouraged rather than encouraged. How much time you've been discouraging rather than encouraging. Write down an estimate percentage of time.
Now look at what you wrote.
Is it where you want it to be?
What does your gut tell you?
Are you driven, feeling accomplished, or are there unresolved issues?
This year is quickly coming to a close. Another year will soon be upon us. You do not have to wait for that year to start. Each day is filled with more possibilities than you can imagine.
To get there though, you cannot allow yourself to become distracted by problems and discouragement.
Instead you have to choose to remain focused on the beauty of your dreams. You have to choose to remain encouraging in your self talk and your talk to others.
Now, sit down and write out those amazing boisterous, beautiful goals and dreams and know, without a shadow of a doubt....
